HOW TO: MASTER THE ART OF INSTAGRAM

Instagram is a platform that I absolutely love, to display my more creative side. Being quite the photography addict myself, I love how it is purely dedicated to photos. It is a great way to fully express who you are and what you love. However, there are a few ways to do this in a clean-cut fashion.

  • Let's start with content! Your IG will be nothing without good photos to post. I like to make sure all of my photos feature good lighting, a meaning and a filter. Personally I think natural lighting is the best at enhancing the features of the photo.

  • Timing is key. Unless you have millions of followers, you can't exactly post a photo in the middle of the night. Generally anywhere between 4:30pm and 9:00pm is good. This way people will actually see and like your photos.

  • Make your captions short and sweet. Pictures should be doing most of the talking anyway.

  • Be real! Don't try to copy other people; this is your chance to unleash your creativity, so do so! Don’t take advantage of the fact that you can change who you are through social media, stay true to yourself!

  • Having visually pleasing aesthetics on your Instagram isn't a must, but it makes the overall appearance of your page a whole lot more attractive. This means having a consistent sort of "theme". This can be achieved by using similar filters on each one of your photos. I personally love the editing app VSCO Cam, who every man and their dog know about! It has really fresh filters, enhancing your photos just that little extra.

  • Upload high quality photos! There is nothing more satisfying than a photo with crisp, sharp lines. Make sure your photos aren’t pixelated or grainy.

These tips aren’t to be taken too seriously! Twist them to your liking to suit your style if you feel necessary. Have fun with it! x
