Your skin is the largest organ in your body, meaning that you should care just as much about what you put on your skin as what you ingest into your body. It is a well-known fact that a great skin care routine is essential in maintaining that healthy glow. I am going to share with you my everyday facial skin care routine from start to finish and personal tips on how to keep your skin healthy.

Morning: I like to keep things fairly simple in the morning, as I am not much of a morning person! The first thing I do in the morning is get in the shower and wash my face just using water. I generally don’t like to cleanse my face in the morning, as it strips the natural oils from your skin. I then moisturise my face using a light, SPF based moisturiser to create a good base for my makeup. Note: Moisturising every inch of your body is very important in winter.

Night: If I wore makeup that day, I will do a double cleanse to make sure nothing is left on my face. Then after I hop out of the shower, I will go over my face with a toner to ensure that any excess foundation is removed. Note: Toner is not good for people with dry skin. Using a makeup pad, I use eye-makeup remover around my eye area to remove leftover mascara; afterall panda eyes are not a good look! To keep my skin hydrated whilst I sleep I use a heavier moisturiser than what I would through the day.

General Tips:

  • Eating well is key to keeping your skin break-out free and clear. I often find that my skin is terrible when I eat junk.

  • Don’t skip on the sunscreen! Sun damage is permanent and looks worse the older you get.

  • Drink lots and lots of water! Keeping hydrated not only makes your skin glow, but makes your eyes brighter too!
